Watch ‘Bruma’, the new video from Scandinavian blackgazers MØL

Lots of the pre-release whispers have suggested the upcoming album from Danish metal outfit MØL is something special. Blending elements of black metal with a shoegaze wall of sound, the band create music that isn’t always easy, and yet there’s something about its coldness that’s both cinematic and captivating.

A perfect fit for their epic sound, the new video for ‘Bruma’ has a scope and coldness that could really draw you in.

“Hey, you guys!”: Skeletoon return with Goonies themed concept album

Pirate metal doesn’t always work.   That never stopped power metallers Skeletoon giving the novelty subgenre of metal their best efforts and their debut album ‘The Curse of The Avenger’ was surprisingly enjoyable.  It really helped that the album featured some great playing to balance out the themes within the songs.  [Full review here.]

New album from Mason Summit expected in January

Mason Summit’s third album, 2016’s ‘Gunpowder Tracks’ was the dictionary definition of surprising.  An album chock full of great songs and retro influences, the singer-songwriter showed off an ability to turn his hand to many styles with equal charm, ranging from pop, country, folk and jazz, resulting in one of the year’s most appealing recordings.
