Two years on from their acclaimed EP release ‘Polarity’, Night Thieves build upon an already solid alt-metal sound when parts of their eagerly awaited full length ‘Metaxis’ take a chunkier turn. The grooves and beat laden melodies that made the EP so appealing are still present, and Jess Moyle’s vocals retain their hugely accessible sound, but the best of this album’s songs present a more confident sounding unit.

Watch: Le Mur share new video for explosive new track ‘Porno’
Spanish band Le Mur sound like a force of nature on their current single ‘Porno’. With immediate effect, the arrangement introduces a slow, heavy riff that mixes the tones of post metal with a grungy undertone, bringing out the very best in Pedto’s aggressive tones.
Watch: Night Thieves share new video for ‘Mycelia’
During the last weeks of 2025, London based alt-metal crew Night Thieves released ‘Obsidian’, a rather grandiose sounding single that blended the gothic tones of Within Temptation with the emo-ish/technical edge of early Linkin Park, creating a perfect hybrid sound that really suited Jess Moyle’s vocal style.
Watch: Premier Jester get ‘Pac-ed Out’ with new video
At the end of 2025, UK crossover act Premier Jester released ‘Slow Dance’, an absolutely crushing single that took a metalcore sound into more interesting places. The track’s hard edges really made a statement, and the choice of melodic chorus helped to make an insanely heavy number seem surprisingly catchy. With a perfect production value for the style and an overflowing of confidence on display, it was hard to believe the band could deliver such a well rounded, great sounding track considering they’d only formed just a few months together.
HOUSE OF HOSTS – Reckoning EP
At the end of 2023, House of Hosts’ debut single ‘Oblivion’ introduced a band who clearly knew their way around a riff. Right from the off, it showcased a band who could potentially crush their audience with relative ease. A few of the vocals were perhaps a little too gruff to fit with the alternative metal backdrop, but it presented something with a great potential. Over the course of a couple more singles, the rough edges had been ironed out a little, but by often sharing a cleaner vocal over a heavy sound, this Welsh band marked themselves out as a rising talent and an act that might build a committed following rather quickly.
