For a lot of people, Robin Guthrie will require no introduction. He’s been a major part of the alternative scene since the late 70s, not just as a founder member of the dream pop pioneers Cocteau Twins, but as a producer, and a collaborator with artists as diverse as Harold Budd and Ride’s Mark Gardener.

New video: Healthy Junkies get ready to take their fans to a ‘Favourite Place’
Having gained airtime on Planet Rock and BBC radio and received positive press from Louder Than War and other sources, Healthy Junkies have already marked out a place within the underground rock scene, but their current single – the energized ‘Favourite Place’ – is the kind of track that could see the British based band score even more fans.

Back in 2018, singer Katy Hurt released ‘Revved Up’, a meaty sounding single that supplied some rather rocky guitars against a hard, curling voice that didn’t hide the number’s obvious country core. The track gained some popularity in country circles, and Katy went on to release a handful of other well crafted singles which showcased her strong voice – including the more old school and rather soulful ‘What Have You Got To Lose’ in 2023. Here’s something a little different. This 2024 revisitation of ‘Revved Up’ has been remixed by Gangstagrass and features a new vocal from R-Son The Voice of Reason.
Joni Mitchell to issue 4th ‘Archives’ box set in October
It has been confirmed that the legendary Joni Mitchell will issue a fourth box set in her ‘Archives’ series on October 4th 2024. The much anticipated set will cover rarities from the second half of her tenure with Asylum Records from 1976-1980.
