Check out ‘Truck’, the new track from The Fierce And The Dead

The last couple of years have really seen British art-rock band The Fierce And The Dead gathering momentum.  Their ‘Magnet’ EP contained some of their best work to date and also appeared on the Prog stage at the Ramblin’ Man Fair.

Quite understandably, there’s a fair amount of buzz surrounding their upcoming album, ‘The Euphoric’.   The album’s launch show at The Black Heart in London (May 18th) is the band’s biggest London headline show to date…and the forthcoming album promises some of their biggest sounds.

Regarding the new single and album, guitarist Matt Stevens is enthusiastic and also hints at the band covering new ground:  “Truck is an evolution of what we were doing on the ‘Magnet’ EP…it’s all about the big riffs alongside some more experimental textures. ‘The Euphoric’, the album, is more experimental than this, but that melodic thing is there through the whole thing and fans should expect lots of reoccurring themes. We spent ages on the guitars and this is the first time we recorded in the Drop B tuning. It reminds me of Cathedral, with a bit PIL and some Neu!   They even let me play synths on it. Even though we’re really pushing forward and mixing things up, I’m sure some people will want to stick it in a genre box, though…same old story!
