THE REAL GONE SINGLES BAR #97

Featured at the Singles Bar this time around, you’ll find a couple of familiar names. You’ll also uncover a world of eclectic sounds ranging from jazz, to light country, to calypso. There’s also a really quirky piece of pop and an almost unrecognisable cover tune to be found amongst the eight picks. With submissions still coming in at a frightening rate, we’ve certainly not been short of musical choices, but we feel that these definitely represent some of the most interesting sounds to be found at present. This time out, we bring you a dance oriented number with indigenous vocals, a couple of very different country tracks, a second single from an up and coming British band, and an unexpected reissue. THE REAL GONE SINGLES BAR #95

In terms of selection, this visit to the Singles Bar casts its net rather widely to bring you a variety of entertaining tracks. Thanks to a massive influx of submissions over the past month, we’ve had more than enough to fit our usual remit, and even been sent couple of rather bold offerings that would’ve struggled to find a home elsewhere. You’ll find one of these here – a sprawling piece of distorted noise that a few people will love, but most will likely feel affronted by such an abrasive noise. That’s balanced out nicely by a couple of singer songwriters, a strong pop based piece, and a throwback to the 90s that’s almost perfect.
