Three songs, seven minutes, seven inches of black plastic. That’s all that’s needed for you to work out that Colchester noisemakers La Muerte mean business. On this debut EP, the tough musical trio blend garage rock, punk with a touch of metal for extra punch and come out sounding like a cross between Misfits, Killing Joke and Limb – a combination of gritty noise that’s guaranteed to leave an impression…one way or another.

SCIENCE CLUB – Day Job
At the tail end of 2013, US punks Science Club released their ‘Aging Punks’ EP, a mid-budget, fairly ragged affair that captured a great energy. Just over a year on, their ‘Day Job’ full length brings more of the same. While the eleven songs are culled from recordings made over a four year period, the album hangs together well. Even with an obviously DIY recording style and ragged production, the musical talents within the band are still obvious – particularly those of bassist Nick, whose busy approach provides the real heart of most of the material.
THE SNOOKYS – Junk Food
The Snookys released their first EP in 2009. Since that time, the Bergamo-based band’s music has gone through a few changes: their 2010 full length ‘Set The World On Fire!’ is a sharp and well-produced foray into punk ‘n’ roll, like Rocket From The Crypt tackled at a Ramones speed, by 2012 they’d retooled their energy into a far more trebly garage rock sound. Their evolution continued, and with that a descent into even rawer sounds. By the time of 2014’s ‘Junk Food’, their sound had become even more lo-fi, but this only served to give their garage rock chops an even more live feel.
Face To Face: upcoming US live dates
US punks Face To Face will be playing a run of dates in the US throughout March and April. The dates will feature the band playing their first three full length releases – ‘Don’t Turn Away’, ‘Big Choice’ and ‘Face To Face’ – in their entirity. There are currently no plans to bring the show to Europe.
LATTE+ – No More Than Three Chords
Even if their name isn’t particularly familiar in the UK or US, Italy’s Latte+ have attracted a cult following on home turf. With 2014’s ‘No More Than Three Chords’ – the band’s sixth full-length and first English language disc- gaining US distribution, that very much represents a definite step towards world domination for the punk quartet.
