Tracklist revealed for Rainbow box set

At the end of January, rock legends Rainbow will release a six disc, career spanning box set.  Much speculation has been made as to what the set supposedly contains.  Even at the time of writing, Amazon UK does not share any details.

Although its been common knowledge for some time that the set will contain many unreleased gems, things have been quiet on the tracklist front, but you can now check out the full contents below.   Of particular note is the inclusion of the live version of ‘Stargazer’ (previously only available on the Monsters of Rock 1980 live LP) and a DVD containing the TV broadcast version of that same headline performance, clocking in at approximately half an hour.  The Donington film has been bootlegged many times, but this set marks the first time it has been issued in an official capacity.

Queen “Live at the Rainbow” released in full in September

To coincide with the fortieth anniversary of the much celebrated Rainbow shows, Queen will finally make those legendary gigs available in a deluxe package this coming September.

Although circulating on bootleg recordings for years, up until now, only highlights of Queen’s Rainbow gigs have ever been released officially, with 45 minutes worth of gig footage available as part of a limited edition box set.

DELUXE EDITION DREAMLAND: Eric Clapton – Behind The Mask, 1985-86

In September 2013, the Universal Music group announced an addition to their ever growing collection of lavish, multi-disc box sets.  ‘Give Me Strength’, a near comprehensive collection of Eric Clapton’s 1974/75 studio sessions with the addition of a few unreleased nuggets became a reality.  In addition to its two discs of studio recordings, the set also pulls together two discs of live material from the three concerts that spawned 1975’s ‘EC Was Here’ live album (nice, but all previously released on the ‘Crossroads 2: Live In The 70s’ four disc set).
