Mark Ronson pulls out of Australian festival

Last week, DJ Mark Ronson confirmed he was to appear at the Future Music Festival in Australia.

It was announced via the Triple J website earlier today (Australian time) the Ronson will now not be appearing due to a scheduling conflict offering “an unmissable opportunity”.

The festival is to visit Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane between March 3rd-12th 2012. Other confirmed acts include Fatboy Slim and New Order.

Venom confirmed for metal cruise

Pioneering black metal band Venom have been confirmed an appearance on the “70000 Tons of Metal” cruise.

The British band will join Kamelot, Suffocation, Overkill and Cannibal Corpse among the confirmed line up of metal acts on a four day cruise taking place at the end of next January.

The cruise leaves Florida on 23rd January and takes in the Cayman Islands before returning.

Therapy? announce tracklist for 2012 album

Northern Irish alt-rockers Therapy? have confirmed the final tracklisting for their next album, due early 2012.

‘A Brief Crack of Light’, the band’s thirteenth release will be released on February 6th 2012 and features the following tracks:

Opening track, ‘Living In The Shadow of the Terrible Thing’ will be released as a single on January 23rd. The band will promote the album via a co-headlining tour with ragga-metal heroes Skindred throughout April, with support from The Black Spiders. The dates can be viewed here.

Pearl Jam confirmed for 2012 Isle of Wight Festival

Seattle legends Paerl Jam have been confirmed as the headline act for the Saturday line up of next year’s Isle of Wight Festival. The other confirmed headliners are Tom Petty (Friday) and Bruce Springsteen (Sunday).

The grunge band’s visit to the UK next year sadly will not include a full tour, but the band will play a one-off date in Manchester as a warm-up for the festival appearance.

Pearl Jam’s 2010 album ‘Backspacer’ was almost unanimously well-received, earning a placing in the top ten of every major record buying country in the world (France, being the exception to this, where the album peaked at an underwhelming #20). In Autralia, New Zealand, the US and Croatia, the album hit the #1 spot.

Soulfly: album title, release date and tracklist revealed

Brazilian/US metal band Soulfly have revealed the details regarding their upcoming studio record.

The band’s eighth album is to be entitled ‘Enslaved’ and will be released on March 13th via Roadrunner Records.

According to previous reports, the new material – the first to feature David Kinkade (ex-Malevolent Creation) on drums and ex-Static X bassist Tony Campos – sounds like ‘”Arise”-era Sepultura on crack and speed’.
