Bruce Soord has kept himself very busy over the past few years. He’s released two solo album, collaborated with Jonas Reingold on The Wisdom of Crowds, and still found time to record new material as part of The Pineapple Thief.
The Pineapple Thief’s 2018 release ‘Dissolution’ seemed to usher in a more melodic era for the band, but their popularity remained as solid as ever within several prog rock circles. A well received follow up suggested there would be plenty more life within the Thief, and a multi-disc box set (‘The Soord Sessions’) containing live recordings made during lockdown ensured Soord maintained his high profile.
A brand new studio recording from The Pineapple Thief, ‘Nothing But The Truth’ is due for release in October on a variety of formats. Further information can be found in the following press release. Following the announcement of their forthcoming multi-format release on October 22nd (12th November in North America) of Nothing But The Truth – their extraordinary live event filmed earlier this year – the band present the Nothing But The Truth performance clip for “Wretched Soul”, a track that originally appeared on their 2005 album 10 Stories Down.

Bruce Soord – “Late last year, Gavin was listening to our back catalogue, looking for songs to bring into our new live set. When he heard ‘Wretched Soul’ he told me how much he liked it and if I minded him reworking it, bringing in his rhythmic and arrangement ideas. In fact there is a short ‘behind the tracks’ documentary included ‘Nothing But The Truth’ where Gavin explains what he did, and why. I loved what he brought to the song, it’s given it a whole new lease of life. It’s also a LOT of fun to play live.”
Nothing But The Truth captures The Pineapple Thief at their very best performing songs from their illustrious catalogue including, for the first time, songs from Versions Of The Truth and will be released on 22nd October (12th November in North America) on the following formats.
