Watch the new video from Squid Cult

They’ve got a spiky 90s alternative vibe.
They love a groove that harks back to the 70s.
They delight in mixing styles, giving their brand of rock a quirky edge.
They are Squid Cult.

Chances are, they’ve not appeared on your radar, but the LA based band have just released a video for the second single for their upcoming LP ‘All Boys Leave Home Someday’. The video clip for ‘Rattlesnake’ finds the band cruising in the desert. Defiantly lo-fi and viewed through a hazy technicolour filter, it’s an interesting experience for the viewer, but also adds to the music rather than being a mere distraction. The well-sculpted riffs still stand up; occasional time-signature quirks suggest that Squid Cult could take a detour at any moment.

‘Rattlesnake’ is an experience. Part alt-rock, part classic rock, part art-rock, it’s as if Jon Spencer Blues Explosion jammed with Meat Puppets.

The album is released on Septarian Records on August 3rd.
