Prince ‘1999’ Super-Deluxe set to be released in November

End of the world parties!  Purple skies!  Lions in pockets?!  It’s Prince’s career-changing ‘1999’ and it’s being released as a multi-disc super-deluxe box set this November!

Before Prince’s tragic and untimely death, the very idea of any of his albums being reissued with bonus tracks seemed unlikely to say the least.  Following his passing, the Paisley Park estate released a 3CD/DVD edition of ‘Purple Rain’ – supposedly given the green light by the man himself – much to the delight of fans.

Pre-orders now being taken for blu ray/CD box set of Marillion’s Afraid of Sunlight

Following last year’s multi-disc box set of ‘Brave’, Marillion are now gearing up to release the follow up (and fan favourite) ‘Afraid of Sunlight’ in a similar configuration.

While the band are playing their cards very close to their collective chests in terms of actual details, they have revealed that the blu ray will include various mixes of the album along with all of the bonus materials from the previous 2CD set…and  SEVENTEEN unreleased tracks.

Pink Floyd: The Later Years – Tracklistings and other details confirmed

A couple of days ago, it was confirmed there would be a multi-disc ‘Later Years’ box set coming from Pink Floyd.  Although the general contents were known – with some differing reports regarding the inclusion of ‘The Division Bell’, somewhat oddly – the final contents have now been confirmed.

THE FALL: 6CD box set covering 1982 recordings to be released in October

Although Fall fans probably expected reissues of ‘Totale’s Turns (It’s Now Or Never)’, ‘Grotesque (After The Gramme)’ and ‘Slates’ to appear before the end of 2019, this October will actually see something a little further ahead making up volume three of Cherry Red’s extensive Fall Sound Archives reissue series.

The Beatles: Super deluxe box set of Abbey Road incoming?

Over the past couple of years, we’ve been spoilt for Beatles products.  Although the 50th anniversary of their peerless ‘Revolver’ came and went in 2016 without a reissue to mark the momentous occasion, the world was treated to lavish box sets of both ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ in 2017 and ‘The Beatles’ (aka ‘The White Album’ in 2018.

With a pattern established, fans quickly speculated whether a 50th anniversary box set of ‘Abbey Road’ would emerge.
