In 2014, the original run of six Blondie albums was re-released as an expensive box set.
There’s good news for those who just couldn’t afford that £80+ price tag. The six releases are to be made available separately in May. The albums from ‘Blondie’ (1976) to overlooked swansong ‘The Hunter’ (1982) will be re-released by vinyl specialists Back To Black in the UK on May 4th.
In support of their 2014 release ‘Galactic Hunt’, Evil Scarecrow have a few live shows just over the horizon. The aptly named ‘Road To Download’ tour begins in Manchester, second week in April and culminates at the Download Festival in the Summer.

Less Than Jake and Reel Big Fish have announced a full-scale co-headline tour of the US. The stalwart bands of ska’s third wave will be joined by Hellcat signings The Interrupters, Pacific & Ballyhoo at all shows.

Forming in the late noughties when the band were just teenagers – young enough to rival Def Leppard in the precociousness stakes – Voice of the Soul always had very grand musical ideas. Following three self-released EPs between 2009 and 2011, the Middle Eastern extreme metallers found themselves in a great position to expand on their previous works. Taking to the studio in early 2014, the band set about making their first full length release – and in melodic death metal terms, the dark and sprawling world conjured up on ‘Catacombs’ does not disappoint.
A few years ago, a couple of pensioners from Bournemouth – home of the mighty prog band Big Big Train – embarked on an unusual hobby. They began to write to musicians, questioning their song lyrics. It all began in 2008, when Wilf Turnbull and Derek Philpott decided to write to Simon Le Bon, stating that other animals besides wolves experienced hunger and it was perhaps wrong for Duran Duran to single out our lupine chums.
The whole thing snowballed. Soon, their project became a fully functioning website, with replies from Gary Numan, Toyah Willcox, Steve Dawson (ex-Saxon), Billy Bragg and many, many others.
