Several bands have been added to the line up this week for next years MPF (Manchester Punk Festival). Among the new additions are UK hardcore legends Discharge, who will be celebrating their 40th anniversary in 2020. With its mix of hardcore intensities, thrash riffs and pointed political messages, Discharge’s 1981 release ‘Why?’ remains a favourite among hardcore fans. Their appearance at the independent festival is a big draw for the event.
Also announced are Pizzatramp, The Decline, Hard Skin, Proper, Pendleton, Ancst and The JB Conspiracy.
The confirmed line-up so far also includes the fantastic Natterers, a relative newcomer to the scene, whose 2018 release ‘Head In Threatening Attitude’ is a fantastic slab of punk. [A full review & stream can be found here.]
Other bands and artists set to appear include The Flatliners, Broadway Calls, Lande Hekt (of Muncie Girls), China Shop Bull, Aerial Salad, Oi Polloi and Fresh. A full list of confirmed acts can be found on the festival’s official website.
MPF2020 takes place across 8 city centre venues between 24th and 26th April 2020.
