Back in 2016, alternative rock band’s Dearly Beloved’s fourth album ‘Admission’ was their most consistent release to date. The kind of record that really deserved to boost their fan base, it led to a successful UK tour with Tommy Stinson’s Bash & Pop.
New material has felt like a long time coming, but the new video ‘Close Encounters’ immediately suggests it was worth that wait. The new track presents the band in a fuzzier and more aggressive mood than ever, with parts of the number really making a great feature of Niva Chow’s electronic treatments. As a second taster for the upcoming album ‘Times Square Discount’, it could not present The Beloveds in a more urgent or exciting frame of mind.
