A Hero For The World is a hugely theatrical musical project in the Tobias Sammett/Avantasia tradition spearheaded by to Scandinavian musicians, Jonas Kaasgaard and David Sivelind. Between them – and, naturally, with a helping hand from a few friends – they’ve created an eponymously titled epic is as big in intent as it is in name. This particular project plows deep into the power metal/battle metal niche and presents ten tunes with a maximum old-school metallic intensity.

I Am I: new tour dates
In addition to their tour dates supporting Skid Row in April and an appearance at Download 2013 in June, power metallers I AM I have now confirmed more live shows.
The band are now also confirmed to appear at Headbanger’s Balls in August and Skyfest in September, with two prior shows in Italy in May.
I AM I – Event Horizon
I Am I is a band fronted by former Dragonforce mouthpiece ZP Theart and featuring former Quireboys/The Union drummer Phil Martini (aka Phil Martin). ‘Event Horizon’, their self-released debut, isn’t just a re-tread of Dragonforce works. With this band, Theart leans, in theory, towards something more melodic, offering huge European sounding power/pomp metal, given a huge send off in the production department by Masterplan man Roland Grapow. With those hard facts out of the way, some of you have already stopped reading, since Grapow’s unrelenting production style combined with Theart’s mere presence means that I Am I are unlikely to appeal to an audience outside of this band’s particular power metal subgenre.
