The state of Georgia, USA: while home to REM, Indigo Girls, Baroness, The Allman Brothers, Sevendust and countless other bands, it’s not always the first place that comes to mind when you think of hardcore punk. However, by the mid ’10s, Atlanta had forged itself a fairly sizable underground scene. In Savannah, one of a few circles of hardcore bands can be found as part of a very close-knit community. Anxiety Junkies released their first full length to high praise from DIY punk blogs and the like, as well as playing regular live shows. As part of the Savannah crowd, Forced Entry could also be discovered making noise on a minuscule budget. Bringing together ex-members of Sauna Heat and Gym Shorts, their debut cassette – appropriately titled ‘CS’ – captures approximately fifteen minutes of pure fury.

7Seconds: US summer tour dates
US hardcore legends 7Seconds will play a run of dates this summer, with Bishops Green and Success providing support at all shows.

ANXIETY JUNKIES – Self-Sabotage
At the end of 2014, Anxiety Junkies, a DIY hardcore punk from Georgia (US), released their third demo. ‘Sorry’ comprised four numbers that put across the band’s intents in a very succinct and fuss-free fashion. It’s rough around the edges quality of the recording only heightened the intensity, but even so, the band made firm plans in the new year to enter the studio to make a more complete sounding recording. Their first full-length, the fifteen track ‘Self-Sabotage’ is the result.

Hailing from Savannah, Georgia Anxiety Junkies are a four piece hardcore punk band revelling in the sounds of the early 80s. Although a little looser in feel, this demo EP recalls much of the attitude within bands like Reagan Youth, early 7Seconds and Minor Threat.
