Welcome back to the Real Gone Singles Bar, the place where we explore some of the more interesting individual tracks that have landed in our inbox over the past few weeks. It’s been a while since we visited Boston and its suburbs, but there’s been a lot of music pouring out of the neighbourhood in the early part of 2026. This time around, you’ll be reacquainted with a few familiar performers, but iwith the help of some fine Americana sounds and even something a little bluesy alongside the expected bar-room rock vibes. As always, we hope you find something new to enjoy. Better still, we hope you find the time spent digging through these tracks not only pleasurable, but also a lead towards discovering other great sounds.

Valerie Forgione – aka Lovina Falls – creates a strange and sometimes dream-like world on her 2025 EP ‘Would That It Were’. Its five tracks create a great extension of the sounds shared on 2023’s ‘Calculating The Angle of Our Descent’, bending pop, synth, dream pop and melodic 90s influences into new shapes, on material that invites its audience to listen closely.
Nilagia McCoy can often be found fronting Boston based garage pop/power pop/alternative band The Jacklights. In the main, their Drive Thru Facelift project couldn’t be any more different, stylistically speaking. Billed as “two humans and a drum machine writing a soundtrack for our dystopian times”, the duo explores a sound that blends industrial loops with deep, goth influenced bass grooves, creating a dark yet danceable sound that has a heart in the very early 90s.
We’ve reached the end of another year, and the Real Gone Singles Bar has gone from strength to strength. As is always the case, we’ve received far more submissions over the past six months than we could possibly hope to cover, and ended up with a lot of great tracks that just didn’t find a home in the original weekly columns. Some things are too good to pass by, though, so as is traditional, we’ve rounded up twenty of the best tracks that didn’t get covered upon release and created the Singles Bar New Year’s Eve Lock In! We’ve got a great new wave inspired track, a couple of absolute bangers from the metal world, a little Americana, some jazzy yacht rock, funk, power pop and goth. With the help of a couple of singer-songwriters along the way, we hope there’s something in this selection for almost everyone as we count down to midnight…
