PJ Harvey wins Mercury music prize

PJ Harvey won the Mercury last night for her most recent album, the critically acclaimed ‘Let England Shake’.

Harvey is the award’s first two-time winner, having first received a the Mercury prize in 2001 for ‘Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea’.

Lou Reed & Metallica: full tracklist and time details revealed

After weeks of being teased with snippets of info, the complete tracklist for the upcoming Loutallica project has surfaced.

It is not known whether ‘Junior Dad features a hidden bonus track, or whether it is a genuine epic.

Duff McKagan’s Loaded announce live dates for UK/Ireland

In support of their third LP ‘The Taking’, Duff McKagan’s Loaded are playing four shows in the UK and Ireland this autumn.

The dates and venues are as follows:
Nov. 03 – The Academy – Dublin, Ireland
Nov. 05 – O2 Academy – Oxford, UK
Nov. 06 – O2 Academy – Leicester, UK
Nov. 08 – Relentless Garage – London, UK

The band are currently making a movie based around the album. Duff McKagan’s autobiography is released on 6th October.

Light FM tour dates

You might not know the name Light FM, but you may have already heard their music. The band have already had their music featured on episodes of ‘One Tree Hill’, ‘Gossip Girl’ and ‘How I Met Your Mother’ and on the soundtrack for the fourth ‘Shrek’ movie.

Over the autumn, you can witness the band on tour, as they support The Smashing Pumpkins.

The band’s full length album ‘Buzz Kill City’ is released on Moonboot records in October on CD and digital formats.

Megadeth confirmed for festival in Mexico

Speed metal legends Megadeth have been confirmed as the headline act for Mexico’s Heaven & Hell Metal Fest.

To be held on November 19th in Guadalajara, the festival is Mexico’s only only open air festival and is expected to attract 20,000 metal fans. Across four stages, the festival will be host to over fifty acts.

Other big names set to appear include Fear Factory and Overkill.
