Anthrax sued by former vocalist

Former Anthrax vocalist Dan Nelson is suing the band for unpaid royalties. He has also stated the band have made false statements to the press regarding the surroundings of his departure.

Nelson says he wrote a portion of the material on the band’s current album, ‘Worship Music’, but has not been paid a fair share of the royalties. According to the New York Post, Nelson is seeking damages as he alleges drummer Charlie Benante, bassist Frank Bello and guitarist Scott Ian have falsely stated in “numerous interviews” that he had “abruptly resigned” after getting sick and forced them to cancel a tour.

Nelson is suing the band for $2.5m. The suit was filed earlier this week.

Original Black Sabbath reunion! New album in the works!

After a few months of playing games with the media, the original line-up of Black Sabbath have announced they are working together once again.  There are plans for a world tour, but also new recordings with legendary producer Rick Rubin at the helm.

Sabbath last attempted to record new material in 2001, but the sessions were aborted when Ozzy Osbourne returned to solo work.  Although the band issued a couple of new studio recordings as part of their ‘Reunion’ double live album, if the new sessions are a success, it will mark the first time the original Black Sabbath have recorded a full album together.
