More information on Ghostfest and Ghost Music:

Ghostfest was launched in 2005 by festival director Toyan St Hilaire, with a vision to put on the best small independent metal and hardcore festival in the country. Since its inception Ghostfest has grown rapidly from 250 to 2700 cap, selling out without fail every year. Many huge names have graced the festival’s stages, including The Blackout, Bring Me The Horizon, Whitechapel, Despised Icon, Architects, Job For A Cowboy, Cult of Luna, Gallows.. the list goes on and on!
In 2010, Toyan expanded the Ghost brand by launching record label Ghost Music, whose first signings were Ghostfest favourites Silent Screams. Since joining Ghost Music, Silent Screams have toured relentlessly, building a strong international fan-base across the UK, Europe, and as far away as Australia.

Swedish rockers Coldspell postpone May US tour

Swedish rockers Coldspell were due to play a handful of US dates next month, but it has been reported that “due to circumstances beyond the band’s control”, the run of May dates has now been postponed.

The postponed dates will now take place in September – between the 4th and 15th – but venues have not yet been finalised.

Colspell’s second album ‘Out of the Cold’ was released via Escape Music in March 2011 and was well received by critics and fans alike. [Read a review here]

Mutiny Mutiny working on second album

Seattle noise-rock band Mutiny Mutiny are working on a follow up album to their 2011 release ‘Constellation’.

Although recording has not yet begun, the band are reaching the end of the writing process for their second release and are also researching recording studios in Seattle.

Comments Jason Dean: “We’re finishing the writing process for the record now and are really trying to push ourselves to expand on our first record. The process is still pretty organic but we’re really digging in, tweaking parts and structures until we think they’re the best they can be. Vocal layering and stronger melodies/performances are also a big priority for us this time around as well as capturing some of the energy of our
live shows to tape.

Our plan right now is to be in the studio by the end of June, wrap up the mixing and mastering by August and get the new album out in September or October. It’s a little ambitious but with the thought we’re putting in to the pre-production we think we’ll be able to do it.

The band’s debut ‘Constellation’ was self-released in the final quarter of 2011. Read a review here.

Jack White releases video for ‘Sixteen Saltines’

‘Blunderbuss’ is officially released in the UK on April 23rd.  Fans can catch White live in June when he plays two gigs in London: Brixton Academy on June 21st and Hammersmith Apollo on the 22nd.

Jorn to release new album in June

Popular hard rock vocalist and sometime member of Masterplan, Jorn Lande, is to release a new solo album in June.

Although at the time of writing no tracklist has been revealed, it has been confirmed the new disc will be called ‘Bring Heavy Rock Back To The Land’ and feature some truly bizarre artwork featuring a priest with a the head of a raven. [See below].

The album is released via Frontiers Records on 1st June.

Masterplan, meanwhile, hope to release their next studio work at the beginning of 2013. A brief update on Masterplan’s progress can be read here.
