According to reports, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will meet over the next couple of weeks to decide on their future without Clarence Clemons.

The E Street Band has always been treated like a family unit. The death of the saxophonist in June has left a hole which is almost impossible to fill.

According to guitarist Steve Van Zant, the band “wasn’t the same” after the death of keyboard player Danny Federici in 2008. He also said it’s likely the band will “carry on playing music ’til the end…because that’s what we do.”

Clarence Clemons died on June 18th.

A special edition of Slipknot’s second album is to be released via Roadrunner Records on November 1st.

The deluxe two disc version of ‘Iowa’ is to contain the original version of the album, plus live audio from the band’s ‘Disasterpieces’ DVD (previously unavailable on CD) on the first disc, while the second is an hour long DVD entitled ‘Goat’ – a previously unseen ‘making of’ documentary.

‘Iowa’ was originally released on August 28th 2001. A worldwide success for Slipknot, the album reached #1 on the UK and Canadian album chart; #3 in the US and #2 in Australia as well as breaking the top ten in various European territories.

Devin Townsend has released an official video for ‘Julaar’, which can be seen below.

The track comes from the Devin Townsend Project’s ‘Deconstructed’, which is the third release in a four album cycle, which began in 2009 with ‘Ki’ and concluded with the ambient ‘Ghost’, which dropped on the same day as ‘Deconstructed’ as a contrasting pair of releases.

Townsend will perform ‘Ki’ and ‘Ghost’ in their entirety at London’s Union Chapel on November 10th and 13th respectively.

Aaron Lewis’s solo debut single ‘Country Boy’ has been certified gold in the US, having shifted over 50,000 copies.

The track comes from Lewis’s country influenced EP ‘Town Line’, which gained 37,000 sales during first week of release and eventually reached #7 on the Billboard 200 chart and #1 on the Billboard Country chart.

The news comes during the same week Lewis’s band Staind released their seventh album, which saw the band moving back towards their heavy roots.

Exeter punks The Computers have announced they are to play three shows supporting Hot Snakes in December. These three dates extend what is already a gruelling tour schedule for the band throughout the tail end of 2011.
