‘Partied Out’ – a new video from Kurt Baker

Taken from his 2012 full-length ‘Brand New Beat’, ‘Partied Out’ is a new song from power pop maestro Kurt Baker.

It’s been a busy year for Baker; in addition to the album, he’s also released a four song EP ‘Want You Around’ featuring non-LP cuts (including a storming version of Billy Joel’s ‘Sleeping With The Television On’) and contributed guitar parts to the debut by Wimpy & The Medallions.

‘Brand New Beat’ was released by Collector’s Club Records in October 2012.

New video from Mike Patton’s Tomahawk

A new video by Tomahawk is now available for viewing below. The track ‘Stone Letter’ was released as a limited edition 7″ on Black Friday (November 23rd), while a new LP is expected to drop in January 2013. The new music marks the return of Tomahawk after a five year haitus.

Earlier in 2012, it was announced Trevor Dunn would be joining Tomahawk on bass. Since Dunn already plays with Patton in Fantomas, the connection between Patton’s various projects and (the) Melvins (Lite) becomes ever more incestuous.

New video from Friend Slash Lover

LA indie-rock band Friend Slash Lover have posted a new video on YouTube. Shot on an iPhone, the DIY clip is used to promote ‘Unaware’, a track from the band’s 2012 EP ‘The Grey Area’.

The clip can be viewed below and a review of ‘The Grey Area’ can be read here.

Abbe May’s Karmageddon

Australian singer-songwriter Abbe May’s recent video is as minimalist as parts of the electronic based tune itself. ‘Karmageddon’ has so far gained mixed responses from those who’ve seen it, but especially from listeners who are used to May’s previous guitar-oriented work.

Previously described as “mind-bending”, the clip for ‘Karmageddon’ can be seen below. The track is taken from Abbe May’s upcoming full-length ‘Kiss My Apocalypse’, due for release in April 2013.
