On the back of a couple of independent EPs, Marmozets released their debut album in 2014 to great critical acclaim and commercial success. Rightly so, too, since their blend of alternative rock, math rock, metal and a smidgeon of punky attitude resulted in one of the year’s best discs. [Full review here]
Lots of live shows followed the release, with the band taking on both headline and support slots; the seemingly never-ending tour also saw the band visiting the US. In the summer, they appeared at the prestigious Reading and Leeds festivals in the UK. While essentially a tour-de-force that would always tear up a small stage, they were booked to appear on the main stage for the events. However, as the below footage shows, despite being a band with less experience than some bands who trod upon that same stage over the course of that weekend, Marmozets absolutely killed it and certainly did not disappoint the attendant crowd.
Below, for your viewing pleasure, is every note of their thirty-one minute performance…and if you’ve still not heard their first album, then you’ve missed a treat.
