In the summer of 2012, Finnish power pop musician/singer-songwriter Esa Linna released the ‘She’s Not A Human Being’ EP, gaining a few positive notices from genre-specific websites. On the plus side, Linna more than proved himself in the musical department by playing a variety of instruments himself, while the presence of ex-Jellyfish man Roger Joseph Manning Jr gave things a definite lift. In addition to their tour dates supporting Skid Row in April and an appearance at Download 2013 in June, power metallers I AM I have now confirmed more live shows.
The band are now also confirmed to appear at Headbanger’s Balls in August and Skyfest in September, with two prior shows in Italy in May.
Half Canadian, half Australian pop duo The Trip have released a new video clip to promote their new single ‘Find a Way’. The sights of sunny Brazil and skateboarders are just the antidote for this particularly grim UK spring.
Recorded at Oxford’s Courtyard Studios in late 2012 with Band of Skulls producer Ian Davenport at the helm, ‘Imola’ – the debut EP from Bristol trio Armchair Committee – is immense. During its playing time of just under sixteen minutes, the band waste no time in grabbing the attention. The riffs are laid on thickly, while other more atmosphere driven elements are often delivered with a layer of distortion for good measure.
