Florence + The Machine to play five Australian dates in May

In support of their massive second album ‘Ceremonials’, Florence + The Machine are to visit Australia next May.

May 2012 will see Florence Welch and her band playing five shows at the following venues:

Thu 17 May Burswood Dome Perth
Sun 20 May Rod Laver Arena Melbourne
Tue 22 May Entertainment Centre Adelaide
Thu 24 May Entertainment Centre Sydney
Sat 26 May Riverstage Brisbane

Tickets go on sale at 9am (Australian time) on December 7th.

Stephen Pearcy: New video posted online

Sometime frontman for glam-metal outfit Ratt, Stephen Pearcy has posted a video online for his new song ‘Don’t Want To Talk About’.

The track comes from Pearcy’s upcoming solo release ‘Sucker Punch’. According to Pearcy, the album is currently scheduled for release via Top Fuel Records, but legendary metal label Roadrunner have an option to pick it up.

Foo Fighters kick off Australian tour in style

On Monday 28th November, Foo Fighters played the first night of their seven date Australian tour. During a three hour set in Perth, Dave Grohl and co played a huge chunk of current release ‘Wasting Light’ alongside other choice favourites from their back catalogue, as well as a handful of cover tunes.

PJ Harvey wins Uncut award

PJ Harvey has been awarded the Uncut Music Award for her album ‘Let England Shake’.

The album, released in February 2011, has been one of Harvey’s most critically acclaimed to date, already winning her 2011’s Mercury Music Prize earlier in the year.

To win the Uncut Music Award, Harvey beat off competition from Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes and critics’ darlings Radiohead.

New Leaves’ Eyes EP released in December

Leaves’ Eyes, the German/Norwegian symphonic rock outfit formed by Liv Kristine following her departure from Theatre of Tragedy will release new material in December.

‘Melusine’ is a five track, digital only EP containing four previously unreleased tracks/mixes and follows the band’s ‘Meredead’ album released in April 2011.

‘Melusine’ is available digitally from December 16th and includes the following tracks:
