New Helmet video now online

Alternative rock/post-hardcore heroes Helmet have released a new video for their track ‘So Long’.

The original track comes from their 2010 album ‘Seeing Eye Dog’ and was written and produced by Helmet mainman Page Hamilton. The album also features contributions from guitarist Chris Traynor, formerly of Orange 9mm and – as of 2010 – member of Bush.

Robert Plant honoured at Americana awards

Having already received many awards for his rock-based work with Led Zeppelin and beyond, Birmingham’s golden god Robert Plant has been given a musical award of a different kind.

On Sepember 13th 2011, Plant was nominated at the Americana Music Association Awards for his 2010 release ‘Band of Joy’.

It was a particularly noteworthy night for musician Buddy Miller – whom features extensively on the Plant disc – since he also received the award for “Artist of the Year”.

KoRn announce complete tracklist for upcoming dubstep LP

Nu-metallers KoRn have announced the full tracklist for their 2012 album ‘The Path of Totality’.

The album – a collaboration with various dubstep DJs – features the following tracks:

Muppets to cover ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’

It is reported that The Muppets will perform a cover of ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ as part of their upcoming new movie.

Twenty years after the original Nirvana hit, The Muppet Barbershop Quartet will put their own stamp on the seminal grunge track as part of the Jason Segal-penned ‘The Muppets’, due out in February 2012.

In other Nirvana-related news, Dave Grohl is set to make a cameo appearance in the movie.
