In August 2026, Stay For Tomorrow released ‘Nuisance’, a hard hitting single that paired massive sounding, grunge influenced riffs with thoughtful lyrics concerning mental health issues and the importance of staying positive. In terms of presenting a full picture, it quickly became one of the Scottish rock band’s most important recordings.

A swiftly delivered follow up, ‘The Fallout’ isn’t quite as direct, but offers plenty to suggest that SFT are still very much on a roll, creatively speaking. A strong opening riff mixes old style alternative rock with a melodic twist, before dropping into a verse where bright synths underscore busy drums. Almost immediately, this sounds very, very different to ‘Nuisance’, with only an accented vocal providing the most obvious link. It’s no less cool for that; in fact, it shows how many influences pull together to create the band’s sound, and the more melodic edge on the chorus should give this single a little more of a commercial appeal.

For those who like the band’s more forthright elements, a middle section where everyone launches into a riff that sounds like Royal Blood playing The White Stripes’ ‘Seven Nation Army’ should provide the track’s standout moment, and this too has a massive impact on the track as a whole, as it helps the harmonic guitar and strong chorus vocals sound even more enthused upon their return.

As different to the previous single as this may be, it’s great in its own right, and it’s great to hear a band who refuse to be pigeonholed.
