At the end of the first quarter of 2026, singer songwriter Kyle Boswell released a great single. ‘The Way It’s Always Been’ introduced many to a performer with a striking voice, but also someone capable of sharing a great melody. That track’s classic pop rock stance also showcased some fine guitar work and thoughtful lyrics, creating a small package that suggested Kyle would share other enjoyable songs in the near future.

Crashing in with a huge drum sound and a very retro guitar tone, ‘Where Do We Go From Here?’ is a little tougher around the edges and kicks off with a real feeling of intent. From there, things never let up; the Midlands-based singer-songwriter utilises a superb riff to drive his way through the heart of some superb indie rock. The twangy lead guitar supplies a superb melodic core and the repeated guitar refrain soon becomes as much of a hook here as any of Kyle’s chosen lyrics. As with previous recordings, his vocal style – often tapping into a high toned, Jake Bugg inspired style – will definitely be make or break for some, but there’s little doubt that this is the work of a confident performer who’s set to make a few waves on the indie rock underground throughout the rest of 2026.
