On a pair of singles issued in 2024, Keep This Up shared a strong blend of melodic post-hardcore with more than a hint of emo. On ‘Blossom’, in particular, the way the band fused speed driven angst with vocals that sounded if they were either on the verge of tears or exploding under the weight of pent up fury owed as much to the mid 00’s as the present.
They returned in the summer of 2025 with the brilliant ‘Fever Dream’, a more melodic offering that featured verses that owed no small debt to early Paramore. The track’s contrast between a post-hardcore guitar sound and the aching melodic punk/emo vocals continued to show off a band who understood the value of a great arrangement, but with a pinch of melodic metal guitar work creeping in and adding a little 80s flair, this was also a track that suggested Keep This Up would be capable of branching out into other rock styles and still delivering something of interest.
Their current single ‘Remedy (For The End)’ continues a streak of impressive releases for the up and coming British band. Taking a slightly heavier stance, the intro sets them off with best foot forward with a deep toned melodic hardcore riff, which immediately has the presence of something that’ll absolutely crush the live audience. Moving into a faster, almost punkier rhythm, the band deliver a riff with some great, sharp edges beneath a clean vocal that has uses emo inflections in a way that sets up a superb contrast, before a harmony drenched chorus reminds listeners of the band’s more melodic side.
The brutal riff returns to create a superb bridge, and again at the tail end of the track when Keep This Up attack with an abrasive post-hardcore breakdown that has a hint of Dillinger Escape Plan playing at half speed, ensuring it’s put to good use beyond the impressive intro, but in all honesty, despite this track’s multi-faceted approach, it feels like so much more than two or three different ideas spliced together. There’s not a note within these three minutes that feels wasted or out of place. ‘Remedy’ celebrates Keep This Up’s heavier side, but it’s still very much a track that plays to the band’s strengths, suggesting they’re heading for even bigger things in 2026.
