Ska punk reggae supergroup The Kilograms, featuring Sammy Kay and ex-Mighty Mighty Bosstones man Joe Gittleman, released an enjoyable EP during the first quarter of 2024. Although only a two track single has emerged since then, The Kilograms have continued to be a going concern and have been appearing at live venues across the US.
They’ve got another tour on the horizon, kicking off in December, then taking the band into 2025. Many of next year’s early dates will find The Kilograms sharing stages with 90s ska favourites Big D & The Kids Table.

The Kilograms Announce West Coast Tour
It’s been a very busy year for ska-reggae super group, The Kilograms, and 2025 is shaping up to be just as busy. The band which includes Joe Gittleman (The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Avoid One Thing), Michael McDermott (ex-The Bouncing Souls, Joan Jett), Sammy Kay, and J Duckworth (Newport Secret Six) released their self-titled debut EP at the start of this year and followed it up with a two song single in September and supported both releases with touring and some festival appearances. The Kilograms will kick off 2025 with their first ever West Coast appearances on tour with Omnigone and Big D and the Kids Table. That tour will start on February 28th in San Diego and will conclude on March 8th in Portland, OR. Following that tour, The Kilograms will open for The Menzingers and Dropkick Murphys at MGM Music Hall in Boston on March 14th. If you live on the East Coast, you can catch The Kilograms a few more times before the end of the year including shows with The Pietasters, The Bouncing Souls, Spring Heeled Jack, and Mephiskapheles.
