Grab some Black Friday mega bargains from Cherry Red

It’s Black Friday and, as usual, beyond a couple of good deals in Germany, Amazon have been rather disappointing. It’s likely you’ve also scoured a couple of other places in the hope of a good bargain and come up short. Let Real Gone come to the rescue!

There are some super bargains to be had directly from the Cherry Red Records website this weekend, and the already hefty discounts can be grabbed at an even better price with a special code, valid for a limited time.

It’s especially good news for fans of classic rock and metal, with two of the Glenn Hughes ‘Official Bootleg’ box sets up for grabs. These are aimed at fans only since each contains a couple of rougher, audience sourced shows, but those are balanced out by a couple of brilliant soundboard recordings in each. The first volume is highly recommended since it also includes a reissue of the hard to find ‘Burning Japan Live’ – one of the greatest Hughes live recordings to date. With the applied discounts, this once expensive box can be yours for approx £15 including postage.

It’s also a good time for Graham Bonnet fans to plug those annoying holes in the collection with the Australian recordings box set, and a 3CD anthology of Blackthorne rarities being offered at unbeatable prices, and for the old fashioned metal fix, the almost complete works of Killer can be yours in two modestly priced box sets, and there’s also an enjoyable collection of Samson live recordings available.

For the prog fan, the sale includes a couple of great Patrick Moraz albums, titles by Anthony Phillips, and the expanded edition of Procol Harum’s classic ‘Home’ LP. Those with even more adventurous tastes might wish to explore Web, a pre-Greenslade vehicle whose final LP ‘I Spider’ was once one of the ultimate Polydor rarities.

Carter USM’s enjoyable live set from Maida Vale is in the sale for under a fiver and The brilliant 3CD/DVD box set of The Feeling’s ‘Twelve Stops Then Home’ isn’t getting any cheaper, either. With the combination of sale price + Black Friday code, it’s now well under £15 – almost half the current Amazon price!
