In 2018, Dot Dash made the album of their career with ‘Proto Retro’. By making the jump from indie punk sounds to a mod influenced power pop, they became more commercial, but with that came some truly great chorus songs. [You can listen to the album here.]
A really prolific band, they have just recorded a cover of the XTC classic ‘Respectable Street’ for a sprawling 49 track tribute album ‘Garden of Earthly Delights’. The tribute finds the band in good company, as it also features contributions from power pop legend Greg Pope, The Anderson Council, Paul Myers and a couple of other well known faces.
You can stream Dot Dash’s version of ‘Respectable Street’ below. In related news, Dot Dash will be supporting The Fleshtones on March 19th at City Winery, Washington D.C [info here] and supporting The Undertones at Union Stage on April 14th [info here].
