Corey Taylor undergoes successful eye surgery

On Saturday, August 27th, Slipknot/Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor underwent eye surgery to correct his vision.
He said yesterday, via his twitter feed, the procedure had been successful and he now has 20/20 vision.

It’s a busy time for Taylor.  Slipknot has just announced they are to play more live shows, despite an uncertain future for the band following the passing of bassist Paul Grey.  The band are confirmed to play the Rock In Rio festival on the 2nd October.  Other shows may follow, but nothing has been confirmed.

In April 2010, Joey Jordison said there was to be a new Slipknot disc in 2012, but following the death of bassist Paul Grey just a few weeks later, this looked uncertain.  Reports still suggest that the proposed Slipknot album is to be recorded and released.

Also in 2012, Corey Taylor plans to release an EP of cover songs with his “other” band, Stone Sour.  While it has been said that each band member will get to choose a cover song each, no songs have been officially chosen as yet.
