Their name might not be the most familiar yet, but Orange County ska band Bite Me Bambi are about to become part of your summer soundtrack. They’ve been releasing digital singles since 2019, but their new release is one that’s sure to put them on the map.

Their new single is a horn filled and ska’d up rendition of The Go-Go’s classic ‘Our Lips Are Sealed’ (a hit in the UK for Fun Boy Three, whose Terry Hall penned the track with Jane Wiedlin). Being cast from superb pop stock, the melody is perfectly suited to more of a knees up and a few jaunty brass and guitar parts. …And if the final result somehow reminds you of the early (and best) Save Ferris, it’s for very good reason: Bite Me Bambi’s line-up – an impressive seven piece band features the legendary Brian Mashburn on guitar and T-Bone Willy on trombone!
