Having only just announced the second release in his archive live series of releases, the ever busy Devin Townsend has announced he’ll be releasing a brand new album in 2022 and embarking on a lengthy European tour.

Very little is known about the new album at present, except that recording is underway with producer GGGarth Richardson (Rage Against The Machine / Man Will Surrender) and has the working title of lightwork.

In the meantime, the following live dates have been confirmed, with more to follow later:

REAL GONE says: Although more dates are being added later, it isn’t yet clear whether these will be extra Euro dates or for the US/Canadian leg of the ‘Lightwork’ tour. At this stage, there’s still no word on a UK show. If it happens, it can be assumed it’ll be slotted in at the beginning of April, somewhere between the Dublin and Lille shows. However, given the amount of paperwork and hoop jumping it now takes for overseas artists to visit our self-destructive little island, fans shouldn’t consider a visit from Devin a certainty.
